HNK Hajduk Split is the new leader of the SuperSport HNL after Dinamo Zagreb suffered its first league defeat in ten months. Dinamo lost 4-2 to Osijek in the seventh round, dropping to third place, while Hajduk's five consecutive wins propelled them to the top with 16 points from seven matches.
A probability analysis for the league title published by Football Meets Data shows a significant shift. Dinamo's title chances decreased by six percentage points to 65%. Hajduk's chances increased by four points to 22%, making them the second favourite. Osijek, currently second in the table with 15 points, has just a 1% chance of winning the title, while Rijeka and Varaždin are at five and six percent respectively.
The Split-based side is in fantastic form. They have won their last five league matches, scoring 16 goals and conceding only five in seven rounds. Their latest victory was a 1-0 win over Slaven Belupo, with Dalisson scoring in the 22nd minute. They now hold a one-point lead over Osijek and a three-point lead over Dinamo, who have a game in hand. A detailed overview of all results and goalscorers is available on our stats page.
Hajduk will test their leading position immediately in the next round with an away derby against Rijeka. Rijeka is currently fifth in the table, and the last meeting between these two clubs in March ended in a 3-2 win for Rijeka. The full schedule of upcoming fixtures can be seen on our fixtures calendar. A victory in Rijeka would further solidify the Whites' position at the summit and increase the pressure on their rivals.
