HNK Hajduk Split has launched a humanitarian auction for 28-year-old fan Miše Sabljić, who was severely injured in a diving accident. The club announced it will sell jerseys and shorts worn in yesterday's 0:4 victory over Rudeš, with all proceeds going to support the Sabljić family.
Miše Sabljić suffered severe head and spinal injuries while diving in the sea near Brač on July 25. Friends rescued him from the water and rushed him to KBC Split hospital. Doctors diagnosed a fracture of the first two cervical vertebrae and a very serious spinal cord injury. He is currently on a ventilator and cannot walk independently, but is fully conscious. He communicates with his family by blinking and using an alphabet.
The family plans to continue treatment at a specialized spinal cord injury center in Heidelberg, Germany. For the first six months of therapy, 296,746 euros need to be raised, with an additional 22,850 euros required for medical transport to the clinic. The family is currently awaiting a decision from the Croatian Health Insurance Fund regarding cost coverage.
The club specified the exact items going up for sale. "From yesterday's victory over Rudeš with a score of 0:4, the jerseys of double-scorer Michele Šego and Marin Šotiček, who scored the third goal for the Whites, and the shorts of Darija Marešić and Marko Livaja are going to auction," explained Hajduk officials. All money from the auction will go through the fan humanitarian club 'Bilo srce' to aid Miše's recovery.
Donations can also be sent directly to a giro account at OTP banka d.d. The IBAN is HR8624070001500013101, and the SWIFT/BIC is OTPVHR2X. The payment reference should state 'Mise nisi sam'. For contributions from Bosnia and Herzegovina, a separate account has been opened with HNK Hajduk Tomislavgrad, number 1610000286830078.
This humanitarian action takes place as Hajduk leads the Croatian Football League. After six matches played, the club is in first place with 13 points, four wins, one draw, and one loss. In their last five games, they have recorded a sequence of wins, wins, wins, wins, and a draw. In the championship, they have scored 15 goals and conceded five, giving them a goal difference of +10.
Their next challenge awaits them at home against NK Slaven Belupo on September 12. The current league situation can be followed on our standings page, and details about upcoming matches can be found in the fixtures section.
The goal is to secure the best possible care for Miše. "Miše's brother breathes for Hajduk, and now we are breathing for Miše," said the club, emphasizing the connection between the fans and their team. The collected amounts will be used to cover the costs of specialized treatment, rehabilitation, and transport.
This action demonstrates the strong communal bond within the Hajduk family. The club and its fans are working together to provide support in a difficult time. Hajduk faces Slaven Belupo on Saturday at Poljud, where they will aim to maintain their lead at the top of the table.
