HNK Hajduk Split celebrated its 115th anniversary today, and the club unveiled a retro kit in honor of its history. Hajduk Split was founded in 1911 in Split as a professional football club. The founders of the club were students from Split who gathered in a bar in Prague, then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. After a football match between AC Sparta and SK Slavia, the students decided to establish their own football club in Split. The club was officially registered with the authorities on February 13, 1911. When choosing the name of the club, the students consulted their teacher Josip Barač, who advised them to take the name 'Hajduk', which symbolizes 'what is best in our people: bravery, love, friendship, love of freedom, defiance to powers, and protection of the weak'. Today, the club will celebrate its anniversary with all former players, coaches, fans, and members who have passed away. Wreaths will be laid at the memorial plaque at the north stand of Poljud Stadium and at Lovrinac's grave in memory of all the fans and members of Hajduk who died in the Homeland War. To mark the anniversary, the club released a retro kit. This is not just a collection of clothing - it's a story about identity, about the white shirt that has lasted for more than a century, and about a club that is old, but its spirit is forever young. Hajduk Split has won 18 league titles and 21 domestic cups in its history. In the 1994-95 season, Hajduk Split advanced to the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
