In 1975, HNK Hajduk Split achieved an incredible success that remains one of the most significant moments in the club's history. During this period, Hajduk participated in the UEFA Cup, and their remarkable adventure began in the first round against Scottish club St. Mirren.

After eliminating St. Mirren, Hajduk faced a strong challenge in the form of English club West Ham United. In the first match, Hajduk played brilliantly and secured a 3:1 victory, creating a solid advantage for the return leg in London. However, in the second leg, Hajduk faced a tough battle but managed to secure their place in the next round, eliminating West Ham with an aggregate score of 4:3.

In the semifinals, Hajduk faced the powerful Dutch club FC Twente. The first match at Poljud was a true treat for fans, with Hajduk dazzling all present with their attacking style of play. Although they eventually lost 2:1, Hajduk showed incredible spirit and fighting qualities.
