HNK Hajduk Split has received a key government decision for the construction of a new football training camp. The government has approved the use of state land in Stobreč without requiring payment of a fee that would otherwise amount to nearly six million euros.
Prime Minister Andrej Plenković sent a message regarding the decision. "A special message for Split, Dalmatia and Hajduk," he said.
The land, covering 71,973 square meters with an estimated value of 8.7 million euros, can be used by the City of Split exclusively for building the camp. The city gains the right to build for 50 years, and the project must be completed within five years of signing an agreement with the state. Branko Bačić, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Spatial Planning, explained why Stobreč was chosen. "After conducting economic and social analyses, the City of Split determined that the location in Stobreč is the most favorable for building a modern football training camp, the construction of which would contribute to the development of football at the local and national level," Bačić stated.
The decision is only the first step. After signing the agreement, the City of Split must prepare a new urban plan. The Ministry will present the results of the analysis of Poljud Stadium's structural condition and reconstruction possibilities by the end of September or early October. The analysis was conducted by four civil engineering faculties and the Croatian Chamber of Licensed Civil Engineers.
This progress comes as Hajduk sits top of the HNL with 16 points from seven games, which is detailed in the official stats. The team is in excellent form with five consecutive wins, and their next challenge is an away fixture against HNK Rijeka.
The current infrastructure used by Hajduk, built in 1979, no longer meets modern standards. The new camp in Stobreč represents a foundational step for the club's long-term development. After the conclusions on Poljud are presented, the competent authorities should determine the next steps. Hajduk continues the season with a clear goal and now with a clearer vision for its future, while its league position can be followed on the standings page.
