Hajduk wins in battle for Europe
Hajduk won against Žalgiris 5:2 in the first match of the third round of the Conference League qualifying round. Hajduk celebrated in Vilnius with goals from Michele Šego, Adrin Pajaziti, Dalisson and Rokas Pukštas.
How did Hajduk win?
Hajduk took the lead in the fifth minute. Pajaziti outpaced Marina Šotiček, who returned the ball from the edge of the field. On it, Šego rushed, and Žalgiris captain Yuri Kendysh knocked him down and hid a penalty, for which he received a yellow card. Šego was a sure shooter, shot in the middle of the goal for 1:0.
Hajduk confirmed victory in the second half
The second half began with a forced change in the Hajduk lineup. Due to an injury, stopper Alec van Hoorenbeeck had to leave the game, and he was replaced by Ron Raci. Hajduk continued to attack and in the 56th minute increased the lead. After a short combination from the corner, Pajaziti entered the penalty area and scored with a precise shot for 3:1.
